Growing up in a family of art curators, I’ve always been involved in the deeper meanings that lie behind every stroke of the brush. I’ve found that art can be utilised as a medium to bring the voices of those who are often ignored to the forefront.
For example, in the piece to the left I created during my Pre-Collegiate program (50% completed in the photo), I dove into the Aliso Canyon Gas Leak that tore my family, and my community away from our homes for more than a year, polluting our atmosphere and exposing us to dangerous levels of Methane Gas, being the largest gas-leak in American history.
Art may just be a way to express who you are, but to me, it is a tool to wield in moments of crisis.
